Good and evil will finally clash, but which side is which?

Hope has struggled with who and what she is, and how that defines her. As she finds herself surrounded by another unknown court and their leader, she is forced to play a dangerous role in court politics, while she secretly learns what she is capable of.

Both sides prepare to strike, the one girl stuck in the middle threatening the balance. With bitter betrayals, deeper truths, and her demon by her side, Hope is ready to face it all until the very end.

How deep will she have to go to save the ones she loves? And at what cost?

It’s time to find out.

The Balance series has been a big love of mine since the first book released years ago. I fell head over heels in love with Vivian and Caleb and then again with Hope and Cillian. I can't tell you just how excited I have been for this book. It's the final book in Hope and Cillian's story and I couldn't wait to see how it all wraps up for them.... fear not, it's not the end of the series, just for the perspectives of Hope and Cillian. I had such high expectations for this book and once again Janelle smashed it out of the park. This was even bigger and better than I ever could have wanted.

The Dark Queen picked up right where Finding the Light left off. I was on the edge of my seat right from the start and I couldn't put it down. Janelle has such an addictive writing style, once I start her books I can't put them down. She grabs you right from the start and you can't stop reading until you've devoured the entire book. That's exactly what I did. I was flipping the pages as fast as I could, dying to find out what was going to happen to my beloved characters next.

The Dark Queen is filled to the brim with romance, action and gobsmacking twists and turns. Usually I can guess a lot of twists and turns that are going to happen before they happen in books but in this one I couldn't believe what I was reading. I was completely taken aback by what was happening. It just made me love this book all the time. It was absolute perfection!

I can't even describe how much I absolutely adore Hope and Cillian as main characters. They are just so brilliant and flawed and I have loved following them on their journey. I am so happy to see their happy ending but at the same time I am completely heartbroken that they won't be our main characters from this point. I love their perspectives so much. Having said that though, I already suspect who the next couple is going to be and I can't wait to read their story.

The Dark Queen was everything I could have wanted and more. It was utter perfection and I can't praise it enough. If you haven't read this series yet then I highly recommend that you do. It is heart-stoppingly exciting with swoon worthy romance, and a dash of danger. If you're a lover of paranormal romance I highly recommend you pick this one up. You won't be disappointed.
