Hey Guys,
Welcome to Day 4 of the Top 10 of 2019. Today we are discussing one of my all time favourite things.... covers *insert heart eyes emoji here*
I will be completely honest, I am a cover whore. I am so taken in by a cover and will often buy a book purely because of the cover. Here are my top 10 favourite covers of the year.
10. Chain of Gold (The Last Hours #1) by Cassandra Clare
Okay so I'm slightly cheating with this one as this book isn't actually released in 2019.... but the cover was revealed in 2019 so I'm saying it's okay. I just think this cover is stunning. The colours and the design and everything. It's so beautiful and I just cannot wait to have it on my shelf.
9. Stain by AG Howard
I've always been quite a big fan of the covers of AG Howard's books. From the release of Splintered, I've just loved the magical feel of these books and Stain is no different. I love the purple colour and with the mystical look this cover has.
8. Sherwood by Meagan Spooner
I haven't actually read any of Meagan Spooner's books yet but I just adore this cover. I'm a huge fan of YA retellings so naturally this book is right up my street. The thing I love most about this cover is that in person it's got a very shiny silvery shimmer to it and it's just gorgeous.
7. The Everlasting Rose (The Belles #2) by Dhionelle Clayton
One thing I adore about The Belles series is that they truly have beautiful covers. The Everlasting Rose is no different. I love the colours, the model and everything about this cover. I also love how much these covers match the series. The series is all about how deceiving beauty is and these covers really do show how a pretty exterior can be hiding darkness. I love it!
6. Wild Savage Stars (Sweet Black Waves #2) by Kristina Perez
I love this cover. I think it's so different from others of the genre having the large title going over the person featured and I just love it. There's nothing specific about the cover that I can point out and say that's the thing I love. I just think the whole thing is aesthetically pleasing.
5. The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon
I freaking adore this cover. I am such a huge fan of fantasy books and dragons and just having that gorgeous huge dragon on there makes me adore this cover. Add to that the fact that on the hardcover the dragon has a shimmer to it I just adore it. I also love that the rest of the cover is a fire-y colour. It all just fits together to show a brilliant fantasy book.
4. Children of Virtue and Vengeance (Orisha Legacy #2) by Tomi Adeyemi
Just look at that cover! It's so beautiful than no other words are needed. I love that on this one we get the full face of our heroine and I couldn't ask for anything more. This was one of those instances where when the cover was released I ended up screaming OH. MY. GAWWWWD!!! I just adore it.
3. The Beautiful (The Beautiful #1) by Renee Ahdieh
I have been head over heels in love with this cover since it was first revealed. I love how it's so simplistic yet so powerful. At first sight I thought it was the skirt of a stunning dress...only to see it was a cup poaring blood red petals... and it just made me love this cover even more.
2. A Heart So Fierce and Broken (Cursebreakers #2) by Brigid Kemmerer
Again, I'm slightly cheating with this one as it's not released yet but the cover has been released... and I've already read it so I'm counting it. I love how gorgeous and green this cover it. Green is one of my favourite colours so I would naturally love the colour of it and it fits Grey's story so much so I am head over heels in love with this cover.
1. Aurora Rising (Aurora Cycle #1) by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
Ever since I first saw this book I adored the cover. Purple is one of my favourite colours and I love the space background. Add to that the fact that Aurora is depicted perfectly on this cover I just adore it!!
What were some of your favourite covers this year?
