Top 10 of 2019: Best of the Best

Hey Guys,
Today's post is all about out favourite books of the year. This is probably my favourite post out of all of them as I can gush about my favourite reads. So without further adieu here's my favourite books of 2019.

10. Renegades (Renegades #1) by Marissa Meyer

I was already a fan of Marissa Meyer after having read her Lunar Chronicles a few years back and my love of her books was renewed this year with Renegades. It's an incredible story about superheros and supervillains and what it means to be good and evil. I loved every moment of it and it's very thought provoking while also being fun and impossible to put down. I cannot wait to continue with this series throughout the next few months.

9. Nightblood (Frostblood #3) by Elly Blake

Deep down YA Fantasy is my favourite genre of all. There is nothing I love more than a magical world with a fight for what is right. I got that with this series and 2019 saw me reading the final book of this series. I loved every single moment of it and the ending was, in my opinion, perfect. It was perfect in the resolution for this world and in the resolution of the romance as well. I loved every moment of it and I am super sad that the series is over. Here's to hoping Elly Blake writes a spin-off series or another fantasy series for me to fall in love with soon.

8. Finding the Light (Balance #4) by Janelle Stalder

The Balance series by Janelle Stalder has long been one of my favourites and the fourth instalment was no different. I loved every single moment of it... even if it did break my heart slightly. Janelle remains the queen of cliffhangers and I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book. I desperately need it.

7. Five Dark Fates (Three Dark Crowns #4) by Kendare Blake

Another finale of a great fantasy series, Five Dark Fates was emotional and just brilliant. I buddy read this one with a friend and we had different opinions on the ending. I loved it. It's very bittersweet and it did completely break my heart and had me in tears but I felt like it was a perfect fit for such a dark and dramatic series. This is one I will definitely read again in the future.

6. On the Other Side (On the Other Side #1) by Carrie Hope Fletcher

2019 saw me pick up Carrie Hope Fletcher's books for the first time. I read On the Other Side and it made me fall desperately in love. It's different to my usual genre but it was so refreshing exactly for that reason. It was beautifully romantic with a dash of magic in there as well. It reminded me a little bit of Cecelia Ahern's earlier books which I also love. I am dying to get to Caarrie's other books in the coming months.

5. The Beautiful (The Beautiful #1) by Renee Ahdieh

Renee Ahdieh is one of my all time favourite authors. I love her and I was so excited for the release of The Beautiful. I was skeptical with it being a YA Vampire book and I still feel like vampires were massively overdone in teh twilight-era. However, The Beautiful was perfection. It's more like a murder mystery/serial killer book.... with vampires. I loved it! I loved the storyline, the characters and the romance. The second book, The Damned, cannot release fast enough.

4. Illuminae (Illuminae Files #1) by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

Illuminae was probably the biggest surprise of the year for me. It was a book on my radar but one I wasn't necessarily interested in because of the way it was wrote. It's wrote in emails and transcripts and things like that and I didn't think I would enjoy that. I decided to pick it up after I read Aurora Rising by the same authors and loved it and I devoured this book and read it so damn quickly. It was addictive and I just couldn't put it down.

3. The Kingdom of Copper (Daevabad Trilogy #2) by SA Chakraborty

Another amazing fantasy book here. This is one of the series I devoured this year. I loved every single moment of it and The Kingdom of Copper was a total game changer. It changed my views and opinions on so many of the characters and I loved every single moment of it. I cannot wait for the third and final book to be release in 2020.

2. The Burning Shadow (Origin #2) by Jennifer L Armentrout

Surely you had to know there would be a Jennifer L Armentrout book in here somewhere. I loved The Burning Shadow so much. It was amazing and addictive and my love for the Lux/Origin world knows no bounds. I cannot wait for the third book releasing... it's going to be epic.

1. A Heart So Fierce and Broken (Cursebreakers #2) by Brigid Kemmerer

I was so very lucky to gain an ARC of this book this year and I completely devoured it. It was absolute perfection. I loved every second of Grey's story and I actually preferred it to book 1 which I never thought would happen. I cannot wait for the third book already and it's just about killing me that I still have another year to wait.

What were your favourite books this year?
