From Goodreads:
Claire thought she'd never get to leave Morganville, but she can't pass up the chance to finally attend her dream school, MIT. After all, getting to invent anti-vamp devices with Professor Anderson - a Morganville exile herself - sounds like a dream come true... until Claire realizes there are sinister forces at play, and she's not the only one with a vampire-related agenda.

Without her friends Shane, Eve, and Michael, Claire finds that surviving a killer schedule may be hard... but with them, it might turn out to be impossible.

After reading Black Dawn and Bitter Blood as part of my 'catch up on ongoing series' challenge, I couldn't wait to dive straight into Fall of Night. This has been a series that I have loved for so many years but I'd forgotten just how much until I started reading it again. Fall of Night was no different and is actually one of my favourites of the series.

Fall of Night follows Claire as she leaves Morganville and heads to Boston to her dream school. She has finally gotten free from the vampires... or so she thought. Claire once more finds herself caught in the middle of some vampire-human dispute and has to decide who she is going to fight for. But this time she's all alone and can she survive without the backup of her friends?

I adored Fall of Night! I loved this one so much and I think it's because it reminded me of the earlier books. With this being such a huge series you fall into this state of knowing pretty much how everyone will act and how it works in Morganville. But with Claire leaving and being somewhere new it had that feel of an earlier book, of something new and new characters and not knowing what was going to happen... and I adored that! I loved the new characters and how they linked in to the ones that we have known for 14 books.

Fall of Night was epic. It had so many twists and turns you could have got whiplash. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough and I was filled with fear and anxiety for what was going to happen to my favourite characters. It was such a beautiful and perfect instalment to the Morganville Vampires series and I loved every moment. I feel a little bit bittersweet about it now as I only have one more book to read and I've finished this series. It's been a long time coming but at the same time I don't want to say goodbye to these amazing characters. Fall of Night ended on one hell of a cliffhanger and even though I don 't want this series to end, I also can't wait to sink my teeth (pun intended) into the final book.
