K-Books is Changing.... Switching from Blogger to Wordpress

Over the next few days you're going to see some pretty major changes going on with K-Books. I created K-Books almost 9 years ago. It was my little space on the internet where I could be completely myself, in all my book-nerd glory. I feel over the past year or so the blog has stalled a little bit. I post pretty much the exact same things all the time and I'm trying really hard to revive K-Books and kick-start it into being even better than it already is.

The first step in this is switching my blog over from Blogger to my very own self-hosted WordPress blog. I've been debating self-hosting and making the switch to WordPress for years but felt like it just wasn't the right time. Blogger has done some updates lately and I actually hate it. I find it so difficult to use and create posts now. I'm not a very techie person so this has been an absolute nightmare for me. It actually made me not want to blog at all, which is awful because I absolutely love blogging. It was the final push and after discussing it with Beth from Books Nest she told me about the hosting company she used who can switch the whole thing over for me.

I'm also taking this opportunity to create a whole new clean look for K-Books... it'll be a whole new, and hopefully better K-Books. I'm really excited about it and that's a huge thing for me as I haven't been excited about blogging for a while. It's started to feel a bit like a chore as I always post the same thing, my reviews, and I just feel a bit 'urgh' about it sometimes. I've been scouring some book blogs to get some inspiration and while my reviews are staying they will be mixed in with some new other bookish posts as well and I can't wait to get started on the new WordPress blog.

This does mean that the URL will change, but ensure you follow me on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter to get the new URL when it's switched over. The switch is happening this week and it could take a couple of hours/days to complete. Due to this I will not be posting on the blog until it's all switched over and sorted. Thank you for sticking with me these past 9 years and I hope to see you on the other side for the new and improved K-Books.

Lots of bookish love to you all,
