From Goodreads:
Just listen, Adam says with a voice that sounds like shrapnel.

I open my eyes wide now.
I sit up as much as I can.
And I listen.

Stay, he says.

Choices. Seventeen-year-old Mia is faced with some tough ones: Stay true to her first love—music—even if it means losing her boyfriend and leaving her family and friends behind?

Then one February morning Mia goes for a drive with her family, and in an instant, everything changes. Suddenly, all the choices are gone, except one. And it's the only one that matters.

If I Stay is a heartachingly beautiful book about the power of love, the true meaning of family, and the choices we all make.

"I realize now that dying is easy. Living is hard."

If I Stay is a book that has been on my bookshelf for years. I heard about it not long after it had released and for some reason just never read it. After hearing Gayle Forman was attending this years YALC I thought it was about time I read it. If I Stay is a beautiful moving tale that I had trouble putting down.

If I Stay follows the story of Mia. After a horrific car crash Mia finds herself having an out of body experience and sees her loved ones reactions to the death of most of her family. As she deals with the devastation she has to decide whether she wants to stay or not.

Mia was a great character to experience this book through the eyes of. Right from the start you are in this story with Mia. You are emotional and horrified at the events that have happened to her and I just couldn't put this book down. It has been a very long time since I read a book in one sitting but I did with If I Stay. I was totally taken away by this heartbreaking storyline and I couldn't read fast enough as I needed to know what was going to happen to Mia.

If I Stay completely and utterly broke my heart. By the end of this book I was completely sobbing. It's so heartbreaking and moving and I just loved every moment of this book. I am so glad I finally read it and I can't wait to read the sequel to see what happens to Mia after the events of If I Stay. If you love a heart-wrenching contemporary novel then I highly recommend this one. It's definitely worth the read.

"I can lose you like that if I don't lose you today. I'll let you go. If you stay."
