From Goodreads:
Every life has a price in Scott Reintgen pulse-pounding new sci-fi adventure, Nyxia, as a group of teens are taken to the far reaches of the universe and forced to decide what they're willing to risk for a lifetime of fortune.

Emmett Atwater isn't just leaving Detroit; he's leaving Earth. Why the Babel Corporation recruited him is a mystery, but the number of zeroes on their contract has him boarding their lightship and hoping to return to Earth with enough money to take care of his family.

Before long, Emmett discovers that he is one of ten recruits, all of whom have troubled pasts and are a long way from home. Now each recruit must earn the right to travel down to the planet of Eden-a planet that Babel has kept hidden-where they will mine a substance called Nyxia that has quietly become the most valuable material in the universe.

But Babel's ship is full of secrets. And Emmett will face the ultimate choice: win the fortune at any cost, or find a way to fight that won't forever compromise what it means to be human.

Nyxia is a book that I hadn't really heard much about before receiving it in my Illumicrate box. Honestly, I probably wouldn't have picked it up had it not been in the box, but I'm trying to read all the books I get in Illumicrate even if they don't sound like my kind of book. Boy am I glad I gave Nyxia a chance because this book completely blew me away and I loved every single moment of it.

Nyxia tells the story of Emmett, a boy who finds himself given the most amazing opportunity. He is part of a team that has been chosen to leave Earth and set off into space, destination Eden - a planet that has been hidden by Babel Corporation. Babel need Emmett and the others to go and mine Nyxia, a substance that has great power and is fast becoming the most valuable material. But Babel are keeping secrets and Emmett just isn't sure that he will arrive at Eden in one piece.

Nyxia is one of the most well written books that I have come across in the past few years. Right from the first page I was completely sucked into this incredible story. Usually I have trouble getting into books with male narrators. I have nothing against them I just find myself able to associate with female narrators more. This was not the case in Nyxia. Right from the start I completely understood and associated with Emmett. He was not the only one going on this journey... I was right there on the ship with him.

Nyxia is a fast-paced, action-packed story that you find yourself unable to put down. I loved every moment of it. It reminded me of some other YA novels in places, but not enough that I felt like I had read this story before. It's a completely unique premise but it did remind me of Divergent a little, in terms of the charactrers having to compete for their spot to progress.

I loved Nyxia so much. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough and I was left needing more. I loved the storyline, the setting, the characters, everything. You may think this is going to be completely action-packed and you would be right, but there are also other elements running underneath. It's a beautiful story of humanity and having true friendships and what's more important to people: winning and hurting your friends or saving them. It was emotional and beautiful and at points I was so close to tears.

If you love action-packed stories in an incredible setting, with amazing characters and a little hint of romance then Nyxia is the perfect book for you. I loved every single moment of it, which was totally unexpected. I am left reeling dying to get my hands on the next book. Nyxia Unleashed cannot get here fast enough. I'll be counting down the days until it lands in July. I would recommend this book to everyone!
