~ Top 10 Books I've Read in 2017 ~

 10. One of Us Is Lying by Karen M McManus

Genre: YA - Thriller/Mystery

One of Us is Lying is one of the books that surprised me the most this year. Before this year I never really used to read Thrillers or Mystery books because I just found the majority of them boring. Having said that when looking through the authors that were going to YALC this year I came across this one and thought I'd give it a go and I loved it. I loved how it kept me guessing from one chapter to the next. So One of Us is Lying just had to get a spot on my Top 10 books list this year.

  9. The Loneliest Girl in the Universe by Lauren James

Genre: YA - Thriller/Sci-Fi

The Loneliest Girl in the Universe was one I couldn't wait to get my hands on. Last year I devoured Lauren James' other series and loved every single second of it. I adored Lonesliest Girl though it 100% was NOT what I expected. I adore sci-fi books and honestly when picking this up I thought it was going to be a Sci-Fi romance... I had no idea I was reading another thriller but I loved that as I was so surprised and couldn't believe how the story turned out. I loved every single second of this fantastic novel.

 8. Moonlight Sins (de Vincent #1) by Jennifer L Armentrout

Genre: Adult - Thriller/Romantic Suspence

Well it wouldn't be a K-Books Top 10 list without a JLA book in there somewhere. I loved this book. This one isn't out until February 2018 but I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this one and it was fantastic. Again, I am absolutely thrilled to find a new genre that I love. I never used to like romantic suspence books until I read a few this year and I freaking adored them. I loved Moonlight Sins so much and I can't wait for the next book in this series.

  7. Wintersong (Wintersong #1) by S Jae Jones

Genre: YA - Fantasy

I freaking adored Wintersong this year. It was one of the books that I got in my Illumicrate subscription box and I read it pretty much immediately. I loved it. It had music, romance and a hint of retelling in there as this is a retelling of the story of the Goblin King. It was heavily influenced by the movie Labyrinth but that didn't bother me whatsoever as I absolutely adore that movie. I couldn't put this one down so it was only natural for it to end up on this list.

6. The Fallen Kingdom (The Falconer #3) by Elizabeth May

Genre: YA - Fantasy

The Fallen Kingdom is the final book in Elizabeth May's The Falconer series and honestly it was epic and phenomenal. I binge read the entire Falconer series this year after having put off the second book until the final book was out. I loved it so much and it had everything I would want in a book. Romance, intrigue, fighting and heartbreak. This book made me sob my heart out but I loved every single second of it.

 5. Roar (Stormheart #1) by Cora Carmack

Genre: YA - Fantasy

Cora Carmack has been a favourite author of mine for years and so I was super excited about Roar, a book in my fave genre by a fave author. I thought Roar was amazing. It was full of magic and adventure. Everything you could possibly want from a epic fantasy novel. I really cannot praise this book enough. I loved every single second of it and I am dying to get my hands on the next book. It gonna be amazing.

  4. Fireblood (Frostblood #2) by Elly Blake

Genre: YA - Fantasy

I know, I know. Another fantasy book on this list but what can I say? Fantasy books are my absolute favourite. Last year one of my all time fave books was the debut of Elly Blake Frostblood and I couldn't wait for book 2. I was not disappointed. This was such a fantastic sequel to Frostblood and I loved every single moment of it. Roll on next year for the final book.

  3. A Court of Wings and Ruin (A Court of Thorns and Roses #3) by Sarah J Maas

Genre: NA - Fantasy

ACOWAR is a book I expect to be gracing many people's lists this week and honestly you can't blame them. Sarah J Maas is becoming the queen of fantasy and ACOWAR was the perfect ending to Feyre and Rhysand's story. I loved every moment of it and as soon as I finished it I immediately just wanted to read the entire thing again. I don't get that feeling often... actually hardly ever so when I do I know I've just read something really special. And that's what ACOWAR was for me.

2. Flame in the Mist (Flame in the Mist #1) by Renee Ahdieh

Genre: YA - Fantasy

Flame in the Mist totally blew me away this year and it was really hard for me to place it in this list. I so wanted it to be number one but the next book won over. I had never read anything by Renee before but this book sounded so amazing I just couldn't resist it. It was everything I love and more and I am dying to get my hands on the next book. It needs to be here like right now. I loved this book more than almost any other this year and I really want to now read all of Renee's other books.
1. More Than We Can Tell (Letters to the Lost #2) by Brigid Kemmerer

Genre: YA - Contemporary Romance

More Than We Can Tell is a book I was very lucky to get as an ARC. All of you waiting for this book will know that it is not due out until 2018. I loved this book so much there are no words that will do it justice. Rev's story is beautiful and moving and inspirational. I couldn't put it down and when I finished I felt a sense of loss knowing that it was over. You really know you have read something really and truly unique and special when you have that feeling. It is the only contemporary book that has made it onto this list and considering I read a good deal of contemporary books it shows that this one really is special. It blew all the other contemporary's out of the water so when I was thinking of what books to include any other contemporary didn't even enter my head. When this one is released go and get it because it's phenomenal!!

What were your favourite books you read this year? Let me know.

Oh... and Merry Christmas everyone. I hope Santa's Book Fairy was good to you all.
