From Goodreads:Juliet Young has always written letters to her mother, a world-traveling photojournalist. Even after her mother’s death, she leaves letters at her grave. It’s the only way Juliet can cope.

Declan Murphy isn’t the sort of guy you want to cross. In the midst of his court-ordered community service at the local cemetery, he’s trying to escape the demons of his past.

When Declan reads a haunting letter left beside a grave, he can't resist writing back. Soon, he’s opening up to a perfect stranger, and their connection is immediate. But neither of them knows that they're not actually strangers. When real life at school interferes with their secret life of letters, Juliet and Declan discover truths that might tear them apart. This emotional, compulsively-readable romance will sweep everyone off their feet.

Brigid Kemmerer is already one of my favourite authors. I absolutely adored her fantastical Elementals series so I was super excited to read more from her. I really wish I had read Letters to the Lost sooner and I'm actually so sad it sat for so long on my shelf unread, because once I picked up this incredible book I seriously couldn't put it down.

Letters to the Lost is the story of Juliet, a girl who is utterly heartbroken over the death of her mother. In order to work through her grief she starts writing letters to her dead mother and leaving them at her grave. She never imagined somebody might actually be reading them. Declan finds one of Juliet's letters while doing his community service at the cemetary. Moved by Juliet's words he writes back and they start on a secret life lived through their letters to each other... but slowly something else starts developing between them.

I absolutely loved Letters to the Lost. I absolutely loved both of the main characters as well as the secondary characters as well. Juliet is going through such a hard time and I really felt for her. I just wanted to reach into the book and hug her and tell her everything would be okay. Declan is such an amazing character and I felt for him so so much. He was also having such a hard time and as I learnt more about him, I started falling for him even more.

Brigid's writing style is so perfect and beautiful. I was only a few pages in and I was already hooked and couldn't stop reading. I devoured this book in such a short space of time because I loved it so much. Even after I finished it I just wanted the book to still continue. It was beautiful and real and it just makes your heart swell.

Letters to the Lost is just the most perfect book. I loved every single moment of it. It was stunning and beautiful and I loved seeing all of the characters growing and developing throughout the novel. I really can't put into words how amazing this book is. I highly recommend it to everyone. It will break your heart and then heal it again. If you want a beautiful, romantic and emotional book then this is one for you. It's not to be missed.
