~ Top 10 2018 Releases I Am Dying For ~

 10. More Than We Can Tell (Letters to the Lost #2) by Brigid Kemmerer

Genre: YA - Contemporary Romance

Publication Date: March 6, 2018

I'm cheating a little with this one as I've already read an ARC but seriously this was my fave read of the year and I loved Rev's story so much that I still can't wait for it to be released so everyone else can fall in love with this amazing story too.

9. How Do You Like Me Now? by Holly Bourne

Genre: Adult - Romance / Realistic Fiction

Publication Date: June 14, 2018

I am such a huge fan of Holly Bourne. I have read and loved everything she has wrote so far and I can't wait to see her take on an adult book rather than YA. I usually read YA but I do love an adult book now and then and I'm super excited to read this one. I have no doubt that it will be absolutely amazing.

8. Ash Princess (Ash Princess #1) by Laura Sebastian

Genre: YA - Fantasy

Publication Date: April 24, 2018

Now, it's no surprise to anyone that Fantasy is my favourite genre of book. I absolutely love them and as soon as I heard about Ash Princess I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. It sounds absolutely amazing and the cover is just stunning. That's enough for me!

  7. Legendary (Caraval #2) by Stephanie Garber

Genre: YA - Fantasy

Publication Date: May 29, 2018

Caraval was one of my favourite books of 2017. I absolutely loved it, so naturally I cannot wait to get my hands on the sequel. I can't wait to catch up with the characters I loved and seeing what happens next. Roll on May.

6. Shadowsong (Wintersong #2) by S Jae Jones

Genre: YA - Fantasy

Publication Date: February 6, 2018

Wintersong was one of my favourite reads of 2017 and I fell head over heels in love with the story of Liesl and The Goblin King. The ending of Wintersong totally broke my heart and I cannot wait to read more about them and what happened next. I can't wait to read Shadowsong.

  5. Hero at the Fall (Rebel of the Sands #3) by Alwyn Hamilton

Genre: YA - Fantasy

Publication Date: February 1, 2018

I love this series. I remember first hearing about it at YALC a few years ago and I read it as soon as book 1 was published and loved it. I can't wait to see how the series ends in Hero at the Fall and although I am super sad the series in ending I cannot wait to see how it all plays out.

4. A Court of Frost and Starlight (ACOTAR #3.5) and Soulstealer (DC Icons #3) by Sarah J Maas

Genre: YA/NA - Fantasy

Publication Dates: May 1, 2018 / August 7, 2018

So I'm cheating a little here by adding 2 but I like to try and only include one per author and I can't wait for every Sarah J Maas book this year. I adore all of her books and May cannot come fast enough.

3. The Prophecy (Titan Series #4) and The Prince (Wicked #3.5) by Jennifer L Armentrout

Genre: NA - Mythology / NA - Paranormal Romance

Publication Date: March 8, 2018 / August 14, 2018

Again, I'm totally cheating here as I also can't wait for all of JLA's books, The Prophecy being my number one I can't wait for. She has so many coming out but these were the ones with covers/standins.

2. Smoke in the Sun (Flame in the Mist #2) by Renee Ahdieh

Genre: YA - Fantasy

Publication Date: May 1, 2018

Flame in the Mist was probably the book that blew me away the most this year so naturally I cannot wait to get my hands on the sequel. I can't wait to see more from the characters and find out what happened after that heartbreaking ending.

   1. Rage (Stormheart #2) by Cora Carmack

Genre: YA - Fantasy

Publication Date: June 5, 2018

Roar was one of my favourite book of 2017 and although I already loved Cora's contemporary books I really feel she outdid herself with her amazing fantasy novel. Fantasy has always been my favourite genre of book so naturally I loved it more than her others. The ending left me wanting more immediately and so I absolutely cannot wait until Rage is in my hands. I mean just look at that cover too. It's stunning. I need this book in my hands like... months ago. I cannot wait to see what happens with Roar and the others. Is it June yet?

What books are you looking forward to next year? Let me know.

So here it is Day 4 and my...

~ Top 10 Book Boyfriends of 2017 ~

10. Harry from It Only Happens in the Movies by Holly Bourne

Genre: YA - Contemporary Romance

Honestly, I'm not entirely sure Harry should be included in this list because he's kind of an asshole. He is the epitome of bad boy. He smokes weed he treats all girls like a piece of meat. He is everything that anyone should stay away from. However, despite all of this I fell for him in It Only Happens in the Movies and I was rooting for him and Audrey.

9. Luca from Mafiosa (Blood for Blood #3) by Catherine Doyle

Genre: YA - Romantic Suspence

I fell in love with Luca right back in the first book of the Blood for Blood series, Vendetta, (which I also read this year, I binge read the entire series) and my love for him just grew and grew throughout the books. Yes, he is kind of a bad boy, what him being a member of a mafia family and all but he is so sweet and you can see he wants rid of that life... he's just stuck. He broke my heart completely in mafiosa but it was worth every second of it because he is adorable and sweet and perfect.

8. The Goblin King from Wintersong (Wintersong #1) by S Jae Jones

Genre: YA - Fantasy

I love The Goblin King in Wintersong. Although he is kind of an ass with his lying and scheming but I couldn't help but love him. He was lonely and all her ever wanted was his Goblin Queen... I loved his story and I'm dying for book 2 to get more of my Goblin King fix.

  7. Kiaran from The Fallen Kingdom (The Falconer #3) by Elizabeth May

Genre: YA - Fantasy

I love Kiaran. Ever since the first book in this series and through the twists and turns I still loved him. He broke my heart completely in The Fallen Kingdom and in this one he really does show him more humane side. I loved every moment of his journey and I truly adore this character.

6. Carrick from Perfect (Flawed #2) by Cecelia Ahern

Genre: YA - Dystopia

Carrick is such a sweet guy right the way through this amazing dystopia duology. He is there for Celestine when she gets branded and when they are seperated he risks his life every day to try and find her. They are such a sweet couple and I loved Carrick. He was mysterious so it took a while to see whether he should be trusted but in the end he was amazing.

  5. Kell from A Conjuring of Light (A Darker Shade of Magic #3) by VE Schwab

Genre: Adult - Fantasy

I fell head over heels in love with Kell this year when I devoured the entire Shades of Magic trilogy this year. He goes through such a horrible experience throughout these books and the more I read the more I fell in love with him. He is so sweet and would risk his life to save those he loves which makes him the perfect book boyfriend.
4. Okami from Flame in the Mist (Flame in the Mist #1) by Renee Ahdieh

Genre: YA - Fantasy

I loved this book! It's been mentioned on enough of these lists for you all to know that and one thing I loved was Okami. He comes across as the worst asshole you could ever come across but he does so out of love for his friends and family and he'll do anything to keep them safe. I love that he develops more feelings and humanity throughout the book and by the end I was head over heels for him. Role on book 2.

  3. Rhysand from A Court of Wings and Ruin (A Court of Thorns and Roses #3) by Sarah J Maas

Genre: NA - Fantasy

I know, I know, I've included ACOWAR on almost every list. I'm sorry but I seriously love it, and Rhysand, that much. I adore Rhysand. I loved him right from book 1 and he shows his most amazing sides in ACOWAR. I couldn't stop reading and I loved him more than ever in this one. I need more books centred entirely around Rhysand.

2. Cole from Till Death by Jennifer L Armentrout

Genre: Adult - Romantic Suspence

There were tonnes of JLA boys I could have picked here. I really try to keep only one choice per author on these lists if I can and I had a hard time deciding which JLA boy to choose as I love them all. I could have picked Seth but I feel like everyone would pick him so I went for Cole from Till Death. He is the boy next door absolute sweetie pie who is a cop and will stop at nothing to protect his loved ones. He's not a bad boy like so many on this list. He is the perfect gentleman and the kind of guy everyone wants to end up with in real life... not just in fiction. And that's why he made it so damn high on this list.

  1. Rev from Letters to the Lost by Brigid Kemmerer

Genre: YA - Contemporary Romance

Okay... so I'm kind of cheating a little on this one. The rules for this post is that your selection is from a book that you're read in 2017 AND a book that was released in 2017. Well my choice is from a book I read in 2017 but not released until 2018 (I got an ARC). My choice is Rev from the beautiful More Than We Know which is a follow up to this beautiful book. Well, I did read Letters in 2017 and it was published in 2017 and Rev is technically in it, he's just not the main guy... so it counts right? Well I'm saying it does because I love Rev so so so so much. He is beautiful and broken and I just want to hug him so much and I love him more than even Declan (sorry!). I just adore everything about Rev. He's perfect and wonderful.

Top 10 of 2017: Best Couples of 2017

  • Top 10 Books I've Read in 2017
  • Top 10 Covers of 2017

  • Top 10 Book Boyfriends of 2017
  • Top 10 Books I'm Looking Forward to in 2018
So here it is Day 1 and my...

~ Top 10 Couples of 2017 ~

10. Wes and Nat from Frozen (Heart of Dread #1) by Melissa de la ruz and Michael Johnston

Genre: YA - Dystopia

I re-read Frozen in December before continuing with the series and I absolutely love Wes and Nat in it. They are so different at the start but I love how their romance develops throughout the book adn the journey that they have gone through. It just such a sweet romance and I love them together.

9. Brigid and Charlie from The Last Piece of my Heart by Paige Toon

Genre: Adult - Romance / Chick Lit

I adore Paige's books and I loved Brigid from meeting her in previous books. I loved her and Charlie's romance and how emotionally charged their relationship once. They were so beautifully perfect for each other. I loved every moment of their relationship throughout this book.

 8. Kell and Lila from A Conjuring of Light (A Darker Shade of Magic #3) by VE Schwab

Genre: Adult - Fantasy

I absolutely loved the relationships between Kell and Lila throughout the whole series. It was so slowly developed and I loved that. They met in the most unconventional way and went through so much to get to where they could be together and I loved every moment of it and always rooting for them. It was perfect and beautiful.

7. Ruby and Arcus from Fireblood (Frostblood #2) by Elly Blake

I fell head over heels for Ruby and Arcus as a couple in the first book, Frostblood, and that did not change throughout Fireblood. I love them as a couple because no matter what they face they still trust each other. I love that although Arcus is a Frostblood and his court have a hatred for Firebloods he still finds space for Ruby. And even after Ruby finds more of her own kind her heart still belongs to Arcus. It's beautiful and romantic and legendary.

6. The Goblin King and Leisl from Wintersong (Wintersong #1) by S Jae Jones

Genre: YA - Fantasy

I was really torn betweek including Leisl and The Goblin King because to be frank they don't have the most healthy relationship in the world. The Goblin King lies and tricks Leisl all the way through the novel however I can't help but love them and root for them. At times I hated them but by the end I saw that their love for each other was a little dysfunctional but utterly beautiful. I can't wait to see it blossom throughout the other books in the series (hopefully).

5. Sophie and Luca from Mafiosa (Blood for Blood #3) by Catherine Doyle

Genre: YA - Romantic Suspence

Again, this is one I wasn't sure whether I should include because Luca and Sophie don't have the most healthy relationship. It's a bit touch and go with her being the most caring sweet girl and him being in the mafia and killing people. But in Mafiosa they prove that their love can conquer everything and I loved them in this one. They broke my heart and made me sob but then put it back together again because they are truly perfect for each other.

4. Kiaran and Aileana from The Fallen Kingdom (The Falconer #3) by Elizabeth May

Genre: YA - Fantasy

Aileana and Kiaran are probably the most unconventional couple of all on this list... Fae hunter and Fae but somehow it's perfect and it works. Kiaran is an ass most of the time but he pushes Aileana to be her best self and honestly that's exactly what she needs. I love them and I really want Elizabeth to write more about them... please?

 3. Lena and Sebastian from If There's No Tomorrow by Jennifer L Armentrout

Genre: YA - Contemporary Romance

Lena and Sebastian just had to make it onto my list of favourite couples. I absolutely adore them and it's one of my fave stories to read. Best friends who fall madly in love. However in this one Lena has some major emotioanl trauma to work through first and to see Sebastian deal with it all and still love Lena for exactly who she is makes this one of my favourite books and them one of my favourite bookish couples.

2. Declan and Juliet from Letters to the Lost by Brigid Kemmerer

Genre: YA - Contemporary Romance

I love Declan and Juliet and I mean LOVE them. I couldn't put this book down and I seriously fell in love right along with them. They are so mismatched yet perfect. He's a bad boy with a criminal record and she's the perfect student but they connect over heartbreak and develop their epic love story through letters. They are just so sweet and perfect to read and re-read over and over again.

1. Feyre and Rhysand from A Court of Wings and Ruin (A Court of Thorns and Roses #3) by Sarah J Maas

Genre: NA - Fantasy

Of course the top spot was going to go to Feyre and Rhysand... why wouldn't it? They are perfect. They're soulmates and I adore everything about them. This year I re-read books one and two before reading ACOWAR and seriously I fell in love with them all over again. Even in book 1 I picked up on elements that I hadn't first time around and it just made them an even better couple in my eyes because of everything that they have gone through and they still end up fighting for each other.

Who were your favourite bookish couples this year? Let me know.

  • Top 10 Book Boyfriends of 2017
  • Top 10 Books I'm Looking Forward to in 2018
So here it is Day 2 and my...

~ Top 10 Covers of 2017 ~

 10. Caraval (Caraval #1) by Stephanie Garber

Genre: YA - Fantasy

Caraval was one of the books I read back in January 2017 and honestly I wouldn't have even picked it up if it weren't for that stunning back and gold cover. It so eyecatching and beautiful and intriguing, especially with the teardrop coming from the title. I also loved that in the UK we got special editions with a special picture embossed on the hardcover under the dustjacket. It's such a beautifully put together book and it looks stunning on my shelf.

9. It Only Happens in the Movies by Holly Bourne

Genre: YA - Contemporary Romance

I absolutely adore Holly Bourne. She is one of my fave authors and so I was going to read this book regardless of what the cover looked like. Now, I'm not the biggest fan of yellow, it's just too bright for my liking. However, I adore this cover. It's eyecatching and stunning and I just love the popcorn that is on the cover. It fits perfectly with the theme and the tone of the novel. I loved this book and the cover is just perfection too.

8. A Conjuring of Light (A Darker Shade of Magic #3) by VE Schwab

Genre: Adult - Fantasy

I love this series more than you could ever know. It's stunning and amazing. Alongside loving the series is my love for the covers. They are eyecatching and beautiful. Even the font is stunning. I loved these covers before I even read the series but as I read the series my love for them grew. They are so cleverly put together. I mean Kell literally is standing in the different 'Londons'. I mean it reflects the story amazingly while still being eyecatching for people who have no idea what the book is about. I adore it!

7. Otherworld (Otherworld #1) by Jason Segel and Kirsten Miller

Genre: YA - Sci-Fi

Otherworld was a book that surprised me this year. It is by no means a favourite but it was interesting and I find the cover so eyecatching and beautiful. Otherworld is the story of a virtual reality game where not all is as it seems. I love the little picture of the beautiful landscape of the game but also how it's bleeding into the rest of the cover. It's so meningful and awesome. I love it.

6. The Fallen Kingdom (The Falconer #3) by Elizabeth May

Genre: YA - Fantasy

The whole Falconer series, in my opinion, has the most stunning covers. I just love them. They are gorgeous and they really show the essence of the story. It stars the kick-ass main character and the colours and so fire-y. I absolutely love this cover. Its stunning and it's perfect for the most amazing fantasy series I read this year.

  5. Fireblood (Frostblood #2) by Elly Blake

Genre: YA - Fantasy

I absolutely love this UK cover of the second book in Elly Blake's Frostblood series. I love the contrast of the white background with the red and black burning of the rose. It's powerful and beautiful just like the inside pages as well. I can't wait for get a stunning finished copy of this on my shelf.

4. Till Death by Jennifer L Armentrout

Genre: Adult - Romantic Suspence

Now honestly, I wasn't really sure about this cover when I first saw it. I am very much a cover whore and I can't help but pick up a book with a beautiful cover and I honestly thought they could have done so much more with this cover. However, the more I looked at it the more I loved it. It truly fits this phenomenal book and I really love how old-school 'flowers in the attic' eske it looks. It beautiful and different from any other 'recent' covers which makes it perfectly unique... just like the story.

  3. Flame in the Mist (Flame in the Mist #1) by Renee Ahdieh

Genre: YA - Fantasy

Is it any surprise this cover has made my favourite covers of the year? I mean just look at it. It's so so beautiful!! The dark background, the rising phoenix, the flowers... the throwing stars! It captures every single thing that I loved about this book. It's so eyecatching and gorgeous. I am such a sucker for beautiful covers and honestly this would have made me pick it up and buy it without ever reading the blurb just so I could have this stunning cover on my shelf!

2. The Loneliest Girl in the Universe by Lauren James

Genre: YA - Thriller/Sci-Fi

I love this cover! I love this book! I just love everything about it. I love the space element to the cover and how sparkly it is in person... like seriously... it's so sparkly. I love the mystery of not being able to see the girl. It's just the perfect cover for this book. It's so sci-fi... and I freaking love it!!!

  1. Roar (Stormheart #1) by Cora Carmack

Seriously... just take a moment to look at this cover. And I mean really, truly look at it. It's a masterpiece. It's stunning and beautiful and so true to the book that it makes me so amazingly happy.
I love Rora's dress and how it shows the true her. I love the dont. I love the background. The stormy sky that looks just so beautiful. It's completely and utterly perfect. It shows Rora's journey and heart perfectly.
I fell in love with this cover long before I read the book. It's just so utterly beautiful!
