From Goodreads:
Audrey is over romance. Since her parents' relationship imploded her mother's been catatonic, so she takes a cinema job to get out of the house. But there she meets wannabe film-maker Harry. Nobody expects Audrey and Harry to fall in love as hard and fast as they do. But that doesn't mean things are easy. Because real love isn't like the movies...

The greatest love story ever told doesn't feature kissing in the snow or racing to airports. It features pain and confusion and hope and wonder and a ban on cheesy clich├ęs. Oh, and zombies... YA star Holly Bourne tackles real love in this hugely funny and poignant novel.

It Only Happens in the Movies is one of the 2018 releases that I was looking forward to the most. I absolutely adore Holly's books and it's set in a cinema and centred around movies. I loved this premise and I knew it was going to be the sort of book that I would love.

Audrey has had her heart-broken and she's sworn off romance. She is over all of the movie cliches and is totally cinical. Until she starts working at the local movie theatre and meets bad boy Harry. He is your typical bad boy who is every cliche all in one. Yet Audrey just can't help but fall for him.

I absolutely freaking adored this book. I loved the premise, I loved the characters and I loved Holly's writing. Ever since the very first chapter I couldn't put the book down. I loved every single moment of it and even though I knew the book was more than likely going to break me I just couldn't stop reading. Holly's writing style is just so beautiful and moving you can't help but fall in love with it. I've been in love with Holly's books ever since I read her debut Soulmates that made me fall in love and utterly destroyed my heart. It's still my favourite but this one is a close second. I really wish Holly's books had been there when I was younger growing up as they're so real and amazing and stunning and they really teach you about so many amazing things.

Audrey was such an amazing character and I loved every single second of experiencing this story through her. She was such a normal teenage girl who had had her heart broken and I loved how cynical she was. I really loved the fact that she totally destroyed all of these insane cliche's that are constantly present in chick flick movies but that we just totally accept.

Harry... Oh Harry. I know he's the bad guy and there was no way he was ever going to change for Audrey but I couldn't help but fall head over heels in love with him. He was so sweet and even though I knew it was all the cliche's and the kind of book that it is it wasn't going to end well I just loved him and was rooting for him and Audrey all the way through.

I adored every single moment of it and I cannot wait for Holly's next book. I'd love for another book about Audrey but I will genuinelly read absolutely anything Holly writes. If you're a big fan of romance and the movies then I highly recommend that you read this stunning and beautiful novel.
