Torn between duty and survival, nothing can be the same.
Everything Ivy Morgan thought she knew has been turned on its head. After being betrayed and then nearly killed by the Prince of the Fae, she’s left bruised and devastated—and with an earth-shattering secret that she must keep at all costs. And if the Order finds out her secret, they’ll kill her.
Then there’s Ren Owens, the sexy, tattooed Elite member of the Order who has been sharing Ivy’s bed and claiming her heart. Their chemistry is smoking hot, but Ivy knows that Ren has always valued his duty to the Order above all else—he could never touch her if he knew the truth. That is, if he let her live at all. Yet how can she live with herself if she lies to him?
But as the Fae Prince begins to close in on Ivy, intent on permanently opening the gates to the Otherworld, Ivy is running out of options. If she doesn’t figure out who she can trust—and fast—it’s not only her heart that will be torn apart, but civilization itself.
~ My Review ~
When I was asked if I wanted to review Torn, the second book in the Wicked Saga, I jumped at the chance. It's no surprise to anyone that Jennifer Armentrout is my favourite author of all time. I loved the first installment of this series, Wicked, and I was so super excited to find out what was going to happen next. Torn completely blew me away and surpassed all of my expectations.
Ivy found out a major secret about herself and if anyone else finds out she could be in grave danger. Now she is faced with having to lie to the one person she doesn't want to lie to, Ren. But in addition to that the Fae Prince starts to get closer to Ivy and she could be facing more danger than she has ever known before. She could do with Ren's help but if she tells him her secret will he still be there for her?
Torn was everything I thought it would be and more. As soon as I started this book I was completly hooked. Once again Jen hooked me in with her phenomenal story telling skills and I couldn't put the book down. I was drawn back into this amazing world with these incredible characters and I couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen next.
Tink remains to be my favourite character in this series. If you loved Tink in the first book just wait for this one. He is so much more amazing and hilarious and full of secrets. I adored every single one of his scenes. He is pure literary genius.
Ivy and Ren remain to be two of my favourite characters of Jens. Ivy is totally kick-ass and this came off in the first book but is so much more evident in Torn. She goes through some awful things but stays kick-ass and sarcastic through everything. Ren is just the most amazing character. He is a mix of bad boy and good guy and although he broke my heart slightly in this book he certainly put it back together.
Torn was such a fantastic instalment of this series. I just love the fact that this series is NA but also a parnormal fantasy type book. I, personally, get a little bit bored with NA books as with the contemporary romance books I find them so similar I can get a little bored. I am absolutely loving getting more diverse genres in NA and this, in my opinion, is one of the best.
If you love heart-racing action, swoon-worthy characters and breath-taking romance then this series is a must-read for you. I urge everyone to read this series. It is most definitely one of my favourite series of all time. I cannot wait to read the third book in this series, Brave. It cannot get here fast enough.
