From Goodreads:
Mysterious. Magnificent. Creepy. Welcome to Rockford Manor.

"There's something hidden in the Maze." Seventeen-year-old Imogen has never forgotten the last words her father said to her seven years ago, before the blazing fire that consumed him, her mother, and the gardens of her family's English country manor.

Haunted by her parents' deaths, Imogen moves to New York City with her new guardians. But when a letter arrives with the news of her cousin's untimely death, revealing that Imogen is now the only heir left to run the estate, she returns to England and warily accepts her role as duchess.

All is not as it seems at Rockford, and Imogen quickly learns that dark secrets lurk behind the mansion's aristocratic exterior, hinting that the spate of deaths in her family were no accident. And at the center of the mystery is Imogen herself--and Sebastian, the childhood friend she has secretly loved for years. Just what has Imogen walked into?

Combining a fresh twist on the classic REBECCA with a spine-tingling mystery and powerful romance, SUSPICION is an action-packed thrill ride

Suspicion is a book that I only recently came across and it sounds very interesting and intriguing. Add that to the fact that the cover is absolutely stunning I cannot wait to read this book.

From Goodreads:
At 21, Calla hasn’t done a lot of things. She’s never been kissed, never seen the ocean, never gone to an amusement park. But growing up, she witnessed some things no child ever should. She still carries the physical and emotional scars of living with a strung-out mother, Mona—secrets she keeps from everyone, including her close circle of college friends.

But the safe cocoon Calla has carefully built is shattered when she discovers her mom has stolen her college money and run up a huge credit card debt in her name. Now, Calla has to go back to the small town she thought she'd left behind and clean up her mom’s mess again. Of course, when she arrives at her mother’s bar, Mona is nowhere to be found. Instead, six feet of hotness named Jackson James is pouring drinks and keeping the place humming.

Sexy and intense, Jax is in Calla’s business from the moment they meet, giving her a job and helping her search for Mona. And the way he looks at her makes it clear he wants to get horizontal . . . and maybe something more. Before Calla can let him get close, though, she’s got to deal with the pain of the past—and some very bad guys out to mess her up if she doesn’t give them her mom.

My Review

There are absolutely no words for the excitement I felt when I got a hold of this book. It's no secret that Jennifer L Armentrout has been my favourite author of all time since I devoured her YA novels in 2011. I have read and loved every single book she has ever read and I couldn't wait to dive in to her newest NA novel. Stay With Me did not disappoint. I fell head over heels from the very first page and I couldn't put it down until I have finished.

Calla has been lying to all of her friends. Her life is a lie. Telling everyone that her Mom died couldn't be further than the truth. Not only is she alive but she has wiped out Calla's savings for drug money and she now has to go back home to find out what is going on with her Mom. When she meets Jax, the hot new bartender at her Moms bar, sparks fly. All Calla wanted was to sort out her problem and leave and never come back home but as she spends more and more time with Jax the more she starts to question where home really is.

I absolutely adored this book. Once again Jennifer's phenomenal writing hooked me in right from the very start and I devoured the book in one sitting. I absolutely adored it. I fell head over heels in love with Calla's story and I couldn't put the book down as I just had to see how Calla's story would end.

Calla is one of the most amazing heroines that I have ever read. She is so awesome and she is that character that every girl will empathise and identify with. I just loved her and I think she may be my favourite NA Jennifer girl.
Enter Jax. Oh. My. God!!! I am absolutely in love with Jax. He is the most amazing guy and you just can't help but fall in love with. He is ex-marine and the sweetest, most caring and protective guy you could come across. He is utter literary perfection.

Stay With Me made me fall in love and ride out this story of self-discovery, romance and action and I couldn't stop reading until I had finished the whole book. It was utterly phenomenal. One thing that I adored about Stay With Me is that we get cameos from every single one of JLA's NA couples and it just made me super excited to see how they all were doing. I loved that.

I have absolutely loved every single book in the Wait For You series but this one, and Jax, has got to be without a doubt my favourite of the series. It has absolutely everything that you could possibly want in a book. Action, romance, drama and smexy times. I loved every single moment and I cannot wait to read Roxy and Reece's story.

Genre: YA - Sci-Fi
 photo goodreads-badge-add-plus-d700d4d3e3c0b346066731ac07b7fe47_zps3cd819f5.png

From Goodreads:
The romantic sequel to Alienated takes long-distance relationships to a new level as Cara and Aelyx long for each other from opposite ends of the universe...until a threat to both their worlds reunites them.

Cara always knew life on planet L’eihr would be an adjustment. With Aelyx, her L’eihr boyfriend, back on Earth, working to mend the broken alliance between their two planets, Cara is left to fend for herself at a new school, surrounded by hostile alien clones. Even the weird dorm pet hates her.

Things look up when Cara is appointed as human representative to a panel preparing for a human colony on L’eihr. A society melding their two cultures is a place where Cara and Aelyx could one day make a life together. But with L’eihr leaders balking at granting even the most basic freedoms, Cara begins to wonder if she could ever be happy on this planet, even with Aelyx by her side.

Meanwhile, on Earth, Aelyx, finds himself thrown into a full-scale PR campaign to improve human-L’eihr relations. Humans don’t know that their very survival depends on this alliance: only Aelyx’s people have the technology to fix the deadly contamination in the global water supply that human governments are hiding. Yet despite their upper hand, the leaders of his world suddenly seem desperate to get humans on their side, and hardly bat an eye at extremists’ multiple attempts on Aelyx’s life.

The Way clearly needs humans’ help . . . but with what? And what will they ask for in return?

Another Alien Book!
I absolutely adore alien books ever since devouring an ARC of Obsidian by JLA in October 2011... Alienated was one of my favourite debuts of 2013 and I am dying to get my hands on this sequel. I know it's going to be absolutely incredible.
Would like this book NOW!

Review: Soulmates

Holly Bourne

Published By: Usbourne Publishing
Publication Date: September 1, 2013
Date Read: July 24, 2014
Genre: YA - Contemporary Romance
Source: Bought
Format: Paperback
Page: 544

From Goodreads:
Every so often, two people are born who are the perfect matches for each other. Soulmates. But while the odds of this happening are about as likely as being struck by lightning, when these people do meet and fall in love…thunderstorms, lightning strikes and lashings of rain are only the beginning of their problems.

Enter Poppy, the 17-year-old cynic with a serious addiction to banana milk, and Noah, the heart-throb guitarist; residents of mediocre Middletown, sometime students, and…soulmates.

After a chance meeting at a local band night, Poppy and Noah find themselves swept up in a whirlwind romance unlike anything they’ve ever experienced before. But with a secret international agency preparing to separate them, a trail of destruction rumbling in their wake, (and a looming psychology coursework deadline), they are left with an impossible choice between the end of the world, or a life without love…

"I just don't think it's possible for anyone in the world to love anyone as much as I love you right now."

There are genuinelly no words that I can say that will do justice to this book. Soulmates is one of those books that is so beautiful and moving that even months after fiishing it and reading loads of book since you just can't forget and it just stays with you. It's just the most amazing book and I loved every single moment of it. I can honestly say it is one of my favourite books in the world.

Poppy doesn't believe in love. She is a cynic down to the core so when she meets Noah and sparks fly... literally... she doesnt know what to believe. Swept up in a whirlwind romance Poppy finds herself starting to believe in love. But the more her and Noah are together, the more mysterious freak accidents start to happen. With people chasing them Poppy and Noah have to decide whether thier love can conquer all... or are they destined to live a life without love.

Holly Bourne is without a doubt one of the most talented authors I have ever had the pleasure of having read their work. To me Soulmates is without a doubt utter perfection. Holly's writing style is utterly amazing. It draws you in right from the start and completely hooks you in this world and won't let you go until not only the book is over but until she has crushed your heart into a gazillion pieces.

Soulmates is one of the most amazing and beautiful books I have ever read but it is the most heartbreaking book I've ever read. Seriously there are no words to explain how I felt after reading this book. It destroyed me. I cried my eyes out and sat in a corner and rocked for a good 3 hours after finishing it. It's the most moving, beautiful and brethtaking books I've ever come across but it is also totally soul-destroying... in a good way.

If you are a fan of YA Contemporary novels Soulmates is a must-read. It is the best contemp I have ever read and I know I will read it again and again as it is just utter perfection. It has everfything you could possibly want. A heartstopping romance, exciting action and the best characters to follow. But it is also utterly heartbreaking and soul-destroying. You will cry for days after reading this one but it is so worth it as it's the most moving, self-sacrificing and beautiful love story I have ever read. Go and buy this one right now. The heartbreak is worth it!

"I feel like I have all the time in the world with you. I feel like we're forever."

From Goodreads:
*This NA Contemporary Romance story contains sexual content and language aimed at a mature audience. 17+*

Carly Summers and Greyston Sterling were each other's first kiss, first sexual experience, first love, first everything.
They had a love that was made to last. That was until Grey took a job as a freelance photographer that took him to the other side of the world. When it came down to a choice between his career and his girl - he chose the career. He's travelled the world and seen sights he wished Carly was there to experience. He's had relationships along the way but nothing meaningful.
Carly has had relationships but nothing that lasted. No-one could compare to Grey.
Now, 10 years later, Grey's back in town and wants to see if they can rekindle what they had all those years ago. But how can they if he's engaged to somebody else?

Nothing Like The First Time is a tale of how nothing compares to your first love. There are trials and tribulations Carly and Grey must overcome on their way back to each other... what if they can't get over the obstacles life throws at them?

Ever since hearing of this book I was really looking forward to reading it. I have really been loving NA Contemporary novels right now and this one sounded so awesome I was dying to read it. When I was offered the chance for a free copy in turn for an honest review I jumped at the chance. Nothing Like The First Time is a really great contemp and I really enjoyed reading it.

Carly and Greyston were each others first love and Grey is the one guy that Carly can't get out of her head. After 10 years of meaningless relationships Carly once again finds herslef face to face with Grey and the sparks fly. But can she forgive and forget the past and give first love a second chance... or has life just moved on too much to go back?

This was the first book I have read from Keren Hughes and I really enjoyed it. It wasn't the best book I've ever read but it was far from the worst. The writing style I found difficult to connect with at the start but the more I read the more I got used to it and ended up really enjoying the book. I found the beginning of the book very 'chunky'. What I mean by that is there wasn't really any flow from one scene to the other. I found it very much like: This happened. This happened. This happened. And there was no flow or anything in between. It happened very fast and was chunky. I felt like after the couple communicated and the romance started it settled down and we were experiencing everything along with Carly rather than being told what happened in 'chunks'.

Carly was a great character to follow through this story. She was very cool and quirky and I really identified with her. She is the character that everyone will love and with she was their best friend. Grey is the perfect, swoon-worthy guy that every reader will just totally fall in love with.

Nothing Like The First Time is a great NA Contemporary novel that was a really fun and flirty read. It has everything you would want, romance and storyline and a steamy, swoon-worthy book boyfriend. I really enjoyed it and will definitely look out for this authors other works.

From Goodreads:
Military legacy Ari Alexander has survived alien spies, WWIV, and a changing world order. But when the new leader of Earth uses Jackson—the only boy she's ever let herself care about—to get to her, Ari has no choice but to surrender.

To free Jackson, she agrees to travel to the national bases to train others to fight. What she discovers is a land riddled with dying people. Ari has the power to heal by turning the fighters into aliens—half-breeds like her. If she succeeds, together, they have a chance at overthrowing the alien leader, Zeus. But if she fails, everyone she holds dear will be wiped away forever.

Once again, everything Ari’s come to believe is thrown into question. In a world of uncertainty, loyalties are tested, lies are uncovered, and no one can be trusted. If Ari and Jackson have any hope at survival and at preserving a life for the future, they must fight the final war with their eyes wide open.

This is one of my all time favourite series. Gravity absolutely blew me away and Hover was the 'out of this world' (pun intended) sequel. I am seriously dying to get my hands on the final installment in this series. I need this like YESTERDAY! I love everything about this series and I neeeeed to know how it is going to end.

From Goodreads:
Kara Marcus is desperate to forget the past and move on. But she can’t escape her choices—especially when she finds herself falling in love…

Since the first day she stepped into her childhood Southern Baptist church, two truths have been engrained in Kara Marcus’s head: sex before marriage is bad and murder is a sin. And that’s why Kara can never forgive herself for what she did at the age of sixteen.

Now, as second semester of freshman year comes to a close, Kara has stood by her high school boyfriend, Ethan. But as they seem to grow further and further apart every day, Kara realizes that she has feelings for someone else: Ethan’s roommate Colt.

Suddenly, Kara’s clear-cut world shifts out of focus, and she’s torn between what her head tells her is right and what her heart is desperately pushing her to do—even if it means committing another undeniable sin...

Pieces of Olivia was one of my favourite books of last year. I absolutely adored every single moment of it. I cannot wait to get my hands on this book and read Kara's story. I loved her in the first book and am really looking forward to reading more about her.

The Young Elites (The Young Elites #1)
Marie Lu

Published By: Putnam Books
To Be Released: October 7, 2014
Genre: YA - Dystopia

From Goodreads:
I am tired of being used, hurt, and cast aside.

Adelina Amouteru is a survivor of the blood fever. A decade ago, the deadly illness swept through her nation. Most of the infected perished, while many of the children who survived were left with strange markings. Adelina’s black hair turned silver, her lashes went pale, and now she has only a jagged scar where her left eye once was. Her cruel father believes she is a malfetto, an abomination, ruining their family’s good name and standing in the way of their fortune. But some of the fever’s survivors are rumored to possess more than just scars—they are believed to have mysterious and powerful gifts, and though their identities remain secret, they have come to be called the Young Elites.

Teren Santoro works for the king. As Leader of the Inquisition Axis, it is his job to seek out the Young Elites, to destroy them before they destroy the nation. He believes the Young Elites to be dangerous and vengeful, but it’s Teren who may possess the darkest secret of all.

Enzo Valenciano is a member of the Dagger Society. This secret sect of Young Elites seeks out others like them before the Inquisition Axis can. But when the Daggers find Adelina, they discover someone with powers like they’ve never seen.

Adelina wants to believe Enzo is on her side, and that Teren is the true enemy. But the lives of these three will collide in unexpected ways, as each fights a very different and personal battle. But of one thing they are all certain: Adelina has abilities that shouldn’t belong in this world. A vengeful blackness in her heart. And a desire to destroy all who dare to cross her.

It is my turn to use. My turn to hurt.

It's no surprise to anyone how much I adore YA Dystopia novels. I have never read any Marie Lu's previous novels but this one just sounds so unique and absolutely amazing. I cannot wait to read this one.

Wrap Up: August 2014

Hey Guys,
As if another month is over already. There will be no vlog this month and this is why...

My August:

So August was a very tough month for me. I planned to read so much this month and I was so excited as I started my new job this month too but life happened and turned my month to hell.

On Friday August 22nd we sadly had to say goodbye to this beautiful little girl...

Honestly my heart is still breaking just looking at that picture. At the beginning of the month she was getting very sick and she had her good days and her bad days but deep down I think I knew we were starting to lose her. I stopped reading completely as all I wanted to do was look after my little girl and even though I didn't know it then, spend every moment I had left with her. I do think I knew but I was just in denial. I couldn't concentrate on anything and then just over a week ago we had to make the heart-shattering decision of whether we would let her go and break our hearts or let her suffer. It wasn't really a choice.

After she passed I couldn't read a word. I haven't done anything for over a week but I have finally just picked up a book again today so I am on my way back to the reading and blogging community and I have this beautiful new ink right near my heart forever. I love you Jess. I will always love you and you may be gone but you will never EVER be forgotten. Love forever...

So on to why you are reading this post. Due to all of this happening I only read 5 books which is not enough for the time that goes into editing a vlog so I will do a August and September vlog at the end of this month.
