The Dukes have spoken and they are demanding action from YOU!
Kaidan Rowe, son of Pharzuph, Duke of Lust, is up for 2013's Debut boy in the YA Crush Tourney and they are demanding that he win!
You wouldn't want to upset Lucifer's head demons now... would you?

Kaidan's up against some stiff competition so Pharzuph and the other Dukes have recruited me, Kayleigh from K-Books along with the #KaidanStreetTeam to tell you why he deserves to be crowned 2013's champion!

Kaidan Rowe is the hottest of the HOTT!

Kai is the son of the head demon of Lust... of course he is HOTT!
What girl can resist the super gorgeous, confident, lustful Kaidan with his messy brown hair, blue eyes and ENGLISH ACCENT! Oh yes... you heard me... English Accent!

Rather that tell you all about Kai... Let's see what Anna Whitt has to say...

"Good gracious, he was sexy - a word that had not existed in my personal vocabulary until that moment. This guy was sexy like it was his job or something."

He is TT worthy...

"He was smokin' hot. As in H-O-T-T hott. I'd never understood until that moment why girls insisted on adding the extra T. This guy was extra T worthy."

You can get lost in his swoon-worthy eyes...

"Gosh, his eyes were gorgeous - the color of tropical honeymoon waters ringed in dark sapphire and enclosed by thick lashes"

He even makes fruit sexy!

"That's a shame," he picked up a green pear from his plate and bit into it, licking juice that dripped down him thumb. My cheeks warmed as I set down my glass.
"Okay now you're just being crude." I said.
He grinned with lazy satisfaction.

Now don't tell Pharzuph and the other Dukes I said this but...
*Looks around and moves closer*

Deep down Kaidan is really a sweetheart and uber Swoony!

Yes Kaidan may be the epitome of snarky sexiness but deep down he is a sweetheart and he always puts the ones he loves before himself.

In his own words...

"Anna... the night of the summit, when you were saved, it was the only time in my life I've ever thanked God for anything."

NO matter what, he is swoon worthy and wants to be better...

"Because all I could think about was you, Anna, and how good you are, and what you'd think of me. You put thoughts into my head that a Neph should never have."

He makes every girl want freckles...

"What do you want from me Kai?"
"For starters?" His voice lowered to sexy, dangerous depths. "I want to introduce myself to every freckle on your body."

His bedroom eyes...

"Seriously" I whispered, unable to look away. "You're doing the bedroom-eyes thing again."

He sleeps in the buff...

"Dear God!"
I screamed and buried my face in my pillow.
"What?" I heard him ask. "Did you see a roach?"
"Why are you naked?!" I did not dare to life my red face.
"Huh. Is that all?" He asked. "I always sleep in the buff. I don't know how you can stand all that clothing."

Kaidan is the drummer in band Lavicious...

"There was an intensity in the way he played, like he was unleashing his passion into the music and nothing else mattered. He was feeling it, lost in it, and he was good. A light sheen of sweat shone on his arms and face, dampening and darkening his hair at the temples."

"Now, with the drummers' absence of aura, I was able to watch the muscles in his biceps and forearms flex as he slammed the drumsticks down in a whirlwind of precise movement. The beat was intoxicating, bumping each nerve ending inside of me. His whole body moved fluidly, jumping with the force of the beat, his face focused and sure."

He's even got girls writing poems and limericks about him!
Courtesy of @KatieOlley

So we know this real cute guy named Kai
Who is so not the type to be shy
He is H-O-T-T
In the Crush Tourney he'll be
So go vote for him and sigh for Kai!

You know he is epically awesome when girls are writing stuff about him!

Now I know you don't wanna get on the Dukes bad sides (all they have are bad sides) so....

Vote for the sexiest, most talented, musical, lustful Neph around.

He created the word sexy, he is the epitome of HOTT, the secretly sweetest of them all, and the most swoon worthy of all of the book boys!

... or suffer the consequences of the Dukes' Wrath.

You have been warned!

Review: Astarte's Wrath (Kythan Guardians #0.5)

Astarte's Wrath (Kythan Guardians #0.5)
Trisha Wolfe

Publication Date: March 2, 2013
Date Read: June 24, 2013
Genre: YA - Paranormal/Historical
Source: Bought
Format: E-Book
From Goodreads:
A tragic love story.

Two thousand years before Dez Harkly developed her secret powers, Guardian Astarte was vowed to protect by the binds enslaving her to the Egyptian pharaohs. Discover the prophecy that originated from a very different time, and spans generations to link two very different girls.

This is the beginning.

Set against the backdrop of the Battle of Actium, in the city of Alexandria, Star struggles with her guardian duties as her feelings for the newly named pharaoh of Egypt grow deeper. Not only is Caesarion her duty, he’s the son of Cleopatra, and he’s human. All of which makes their love forbidden.

But when a conspiracy linked to Caesar creeps into Alexandria, Star must choose between helping her fellow Kythan free themselves of their servitude, and protecting her charge—the last pharaoh—while Egypt burns around her.

"You were created to be with me."

I was so excited to finally read this book. Trisha Wolfe is without a doubt one of my favourite authors, I absolutely adore her and love all of her work. I actually beta read this book but really wanted to wait until I had read the finished version before writing my review. Astarte's Wrath just completely and utterly blew me away.

Trisha Wolfe just completely blew me away with this book. Her writing style is just amazing and completely drew me in right from the very start and I literally could not put this book down (both times). Although Astarte's Wrath is a companion novel to Destiny's Fire it is completely not necessary to have read Destiny's Fire first. I have not yet read Destiny's Fire and Astarte's Wrath is such a phenomenal book that it is strong enough to stand on its own and it a phenomenal story and adventure on its own without leaning on Destiny's Fire.

Star is such an awesome character. I adore her! We see the story through Star's eyes and we really go on this incredible emotional journey along with her. She is completely kick-ass and she does what she feels is right and trusts her instincts rather than going along with what other people say. I absolutely adore her!

Xarion... oh my word bestill my heart because I am in love yet again! Xarion is perfect! Everything you would ever want in a book boyfriend Xarion has. He is sweet, romantic, super hot, sexy and passionate! I instantly fell in love with him and every scene he was in I was sat reading with the biggest cheesy grin on my face you could ever imagine! I adore him!

Trisha Wolfe deserves a damn medal for this book! Considering it is a historical (set in Egyptian times) and I am so not a historical fan I adored this book! I was completely captured by the characters and their stories I literally could not stop reading. Trisha brings the perfect balence of history with a touch of magic which makes this book completely phenomenal and unique.

Astarte's Wrath is a fantastic must-read that completely tugs at the heart-strings! It had me laughing one moment and crying the next! It hurt my heart but it was so worth it for this phenomenal breath-taking journey.

"I would give up my crown, if it meant finding a way to free you, Star."

Top 10 Tuesday: Top 10 Best Books I've Read So Far in 2013

Hey Guys,
So I've been a fan of this meme for a while and have always loved checking out the other bloggers posts so I finally decided to join in. I love making lists, especially about books so this is the perfect meme for me to do.

Check out the origin of Top Ten Tuesday over at The Broke and the Bookish.

Okay so this week's topic is....

Top Ten Best Books Read So Far in 2013

Man... this is a toughy for me. I've read quite a few awesome books so far this year. I have ended up narrowing it down to my Top 5* Rating books and then only allowing one book per author... which was really tough since I've read a few from my favorite authors.

So I really couldn't put these in any particular order so to satisfy my OCD I just went with Alphabetical Order.

The Collector (Dante Walker #1) by Victoria Scott

I just loved this book. Typical bad boy, inperfect good girl and add in some swoon worthy scenes and a dash of demons and devilish fun... what's not to love?

Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass #2) by Sarah J. Maas

I fell head over heels in love with the first one last year and this one just blew me away and left me dying, mouth gaping. This is just so much better than the first installment and I literally could not put it down. I am obsessed with this series. I adore it. It's an addictive must-read.

Dare You To (Pushing the Limits #2) by Katie McGarry

I am just completely in love with Katie McGarry. She is one of my all time favourite authors and Dare You To was just incredible. A perfect YA Contemp that will take over your life. And it's Bad Girl meets Good Guy... a incredible twist on the YA Contemp Genre.

Darker Days (The Darker Agency #1) by Jus Accardo

I literally finished this a few days ago and it was incredible. I am a massive fan of Jus' Denezen series so couldn't wait to read this one. It has everything you want in a series. A swoon-worthy guy with just a dash of dangerous, a kick-ass yet hilarious heroine that will have you laughing your ass off all the way through along with some action and a tough of mystery! Oh yeah and the Seven Deadly Sins.... LOVE!

The Elite (The Selection #2) by Kiera Cass

Ahh I have so many feels for this book. I love this series. It brings out my inner child dreaming about Prince's and Princesses. This is a great dystopia series that I am just in love with and The Elite blew my socks off!

Faking It (Losing It #2) by Cora Carmack

Naturally I had to have my girl Cora in here. I absolutely loved Losing It and Faking It does not dissapoint. I loved reading Cade's story so much. I had loved him in Losing It and I loved him even more in this one. This NA Contemp just stole my heart. With the Bad Girl meets Good Guy it was amazing. It's sweet and sexy and just all round phenomenal!

Fireblood (Fireblood #1) by Trisha Wolfe

I refuse to say much about this so not to spoil. I had the pleasure of being able to beta read this for Trisha and let me say it's just amazing! This perfect mix of dytopia and fantasy blew me away. Trisha is one of my all time favourite authors and this is definitely my favourite book of hers.

Sweet Peril (The Sweet Trilogy #2) by Wendy Higgins

To explain why this is in my Top 10 only one word is needed:

The Testing (The Testing #1) by Joelle Charbonneau

This is one of those incredible unique dystopia novels you come across once in a while and it completely possesses you and takes over your life. Read this book in one sitting. My favourite dystopia of all time.

Wait For You (Wait For You #1) by J. Lynn

J. Lynn's first NA Contemporary Romance novel just stole my breath and my heart. It took me so long to decide which JLA book to put in here but it just had to be Wait For You. This book has such a deep and meaningful message behind it and I found this book so inspirational and uplifting. I loved every moment of it and it is the one of JLA's books that the meaning behind it has stayed with me no matter how long it is since I read it.

So that's it...
My Top 10 Best Books Read in 2013 so far...

what are yours?

Early Review: Darker Days (Darker Agency #1)

Darker Days (Darker Agency #1)
Jus Accardo

Published By: Entangled Teen
Publication Date: August 19, 2013
Date Read: June 18, 2013
Genre: YA - Paranormal
Source: Review Copy from Entangled Teen
Format: E-Book
From Goodreads:
Jessie Darker goes to high school during the day, but at night she helps with the family investigation business. Cheating husbands and stolen inheritances? They’re your girls—but their specialty is a bit darker. Zombie in your garage? Pesky Poltergeist living in your pool? They’ll have the problem solved in a magical minute. For a nominal fee, of course...

When gorgeous new client, Lukas Scott, saunters into the office requesting their help to find a stolen box, it sounds like a simple case—until the truth comes out. The box is full of Sin.

Seven deadly ones, in fact.

They’ve got five days to recapture the Sins before they're recalled by the box, taking seven hijacked human bodies with them. Easy peasy—except for one thing...

There’s a spell that will allow the Sins to remain free, causing chaos forever. When the key ingredient threatens the life of someone she knows, Jessie must make the ultimate choice between love and family—or lose everything.

Oh. My. Word! There are no words to explain just how excited I was to get hold of this book. Right from the moment I got an ARC of Touch I have been an enormous fan of Jus Accardo. I just adore all her books. They are just fantastic. When I heard of this new series I couldn't wait to read it. Darker Days is very different form Jus' Denezen series but I just fell in love with this series and adore it just as much, if not more, than the Denezen series.

Jessie has always been different. And she loves it. Being a Darker Jessie has the knowledge and ability to rid the town of their supernatural happenings. But when a gorgeous yet dangerous boy shows up everything is about to change. The Seven Deadly Sins have been released and they only have five days to capture them and put them back in the box. But can Jessie do it when she is falling for one of the Sins?

I love, love, love this book. It is so different from the Denezen series but right from the first page I was completely sucked into this new world. Jus has done it again and wrote an addictive and unputdownable novel that will completely take over you life. I literally could not put it down so make sure you have nothing to do when you pick up this book and it will possess you!

Jessie is such a phenomenal character! I adore her! Right from the start I just loved reading from her point of view. Her narration had me literally laughing out loud most of the way through the book. It made this book have such a refreshing take than most YA novels. A lot of YA heroines are so serious and down all of the time that having this spunky, upbeat character that makes you just laugh so hard all the time is amazing. She is funny, spunks, snarky and totally kick-ass. All the factors that make her a perfect heroine.

Lukas, oh my Lukas. I genuinely fell head over heels in love with him. Who wouldn't love the guy who deep down is the sweetest most loving guy ever but has this angry dark side and a past he wants nothing but to erase. He is deadly... literally! I adore him and he is without a doubt been added ot my collection of book boyfriends!

It's official that no matter what Jus writes I adore! There is nothing this woman can't write that I won't obsess over. She is just phenomenal and Darker Days is no different. It completely possessed you and takes over your life. While The Denezen series is dark and serious that has you heart literally beating out of your chest Darker Days is funny, sexy and down right devilish! I loved every single moment of it and I would recommend it to everyone. It will suck you in from the very first page and will leave you dying to know what's going to happen that you cannot help but race through the book like it's going to diappear. The ending was perfect and left me with the warm and fuzzies. I am dying to know what kind of mischief that Jessie will get into next. This book has everything you could possibly want, action, mischief, humor, romance and a touch of deadly things to come. I adored it!

Now I am so excited to welcome to the blog the incredible author of the series Tara Fuller.

Hi Tara,

Thanks for joining us on K-Books today.

When did you first discover that you wanted to be a writer?

Tara: I’ve wanted to be a writer since about the third grade. But I really started to take it seriously when I got my first writing gig at a newspaper when I was in college.

Most of your books are in the Paranormal Romance genre. Did you always want to write in this genre?
Tara: Not always. In fact the first two books I ever wrote (neither were ever published) were a thriller and a contemporary. But I love the way you get to invent an entire world with the paranormal genre.

What genre book do you enjoy reading?

Tara: My two favorites are paranormal romance and adult contemporary romance.

Do you have any authors that you look up to or that inspire you?

Tara: Lots! Too many to list them all, so I’ll just name a few. Maggie Steifvater, Edgar Allen Poe, and R.L Stine.

Your book Blurred is due for release soon. What was the inspiration behind that story?

Tara: Blurred is the companion sequel to Inbetween, so the characters and plot were born from that book. There wasn’t anything in particular that sparked that idea. Once I was in the world of Inbetween, this is just where the story naturally flowed to for me.

So whose story did you enjoy writing more? The one is Blurred or the one in Inbetween?

Tara: This is a hard one, lol.  I’ll say Blurred. Even though it was hands down the hardest book I have ever written. Cash was stubborn most days for me while I was working on it. But I am so happy with the finished product. It’s definitely my favorite book of the two.

How do you feel about unleashing Cash’s story into the world?

Tara: Excited! And nervous! Cash and Anaya’s story is a bit different from Inbetween. It’s a little darker and our boy Cash has a rough time through this one. So, hopefully people will like where it goes and not come after me with pitch forks for all that I put him through, lol.

Do you take any personal experiences and adapt them into your writing?

Tara: Some, but not much. Most of my writing is me creating something new. Something I’ve never experienced. That’s half the fun. My readers aren’t the only ones that get an escape with my books. I get one too while writing them.

Are there any particular scenes that you enjoy writing more than others?

Tara: I love writing kissing scenes, but who doesn’t? Lol.

And finally what can we expect to see from you in the future?

Tara: You can look for book three in the Kissed by Death series, DESCENT, summer of 2014. That will be Easton’s story! I also have an adult contemporary series coming out this year under my pen name, Nicolette Day, with Entangled Publishing’s Brazen line.

Getting to Know You – Quick Fire Round

Contemporary or Paranormal?  Both
Sci-Fi or Dystopia? Dystopia
Hardcopy or E-Book? Hardcopy

Book or Movie? Book

 Connect With Tara:

Tara Fuller writes novels. Some about grim reapers. Some about witches. All of course are delightfully full of teen angst and kissing. Tara grew up in a one stop light town in Oklahoma where once upon a time she stayed up with a flash light reading RL Stine novels and only dreamed of becoming a writer. She has a slight obsession with music and a shameless addiction for zombie fiction, Mystery Science Theater, and black and white mochas. Tara no longer lives in a one stop light town. Now she lives with her family in a slightly larger town in North  Carolina where they have at least three stoplights.
