Hushed (Witches of Santa Anna #4)

Rumored
Lauren Barnholdt and Aaron Gorvine

Publication Date: February, 19 2011

From Goodreads:
Hushed, the fourth book in the Witches of Santa Anna series of novellas....

Natalia Moore is the new girl at Santa Anna Prep, and all she wants to do is fly under the radar -- get to her classes, meet a few friends, and try not to make a total fool of herself in the meantime. But when handsome and popular Campbell Elliot goes out of his way to be nice to the new girl, Natalia's plan to go unnoticed flies out the window.

Cam's hot, but he's completely off-limits. Raine Marsden, the most popular and meanest girl in school, has had her eye on him ever since the summer. And Raine doesn't like competition.

When Cam goes as far as inviting Natalia to the exclusive weekend party at Raine's house, Raine sets her sights on a new victim. But what Natalia doesn't know is that Raine and her friends are no ordinary mean girls. They have powers most people can only dream of, and nobody will stand in the way of what they want. And what Raine wants is Campbell.

Hushed is the fourth book in The Witches of Santa Anna series of novellas, a series that proves just how far true love will go and that nothing--not even pure evil--can change your destiny.

I said it about rumored but Hushed is definitely my favourite of the series. In this book i started to really hate raine, with all the rumors she started to spread about Natalia. i was really glad about the butterfly aspect of the book as i was wondering why there were butterfly's on every cover. overall this was such an awesome book even tho as usual super short. now i am going to be waiting very impatiently for the next book.

This is definitely my favourite one so far. This was the book where it started to get really exciting and i couldn't wait to finish it. it was amazingly good. Raine started to use her powers a lot more and you really feel sorry for cam as he doesn't get whats happening to him. I really started to dislike Brody in this book there is just something about him and i feel that he is in on all the weird stuff with Raine and her friends.
i really love Natalia and like that after cam found out what was going on with Raine it brought them closer together.

Tricked, the second book in the Witches of Santa Anna series....

This book was much better than the first one. tho it was still very short and i finished it in 20 minutes the story started to get more interesting. you found the supernatural element of the book in Raine, as without the author explicitly telling you you know that she is performing some kind of witchcraft.
I loved how at the end Natalia and Campbell admitted their feelings for one another and the author leaves you feeling optimistic about their relationship. however i don't think things are going to be that easy for them.

This is a really good beginning to what i think will be an awesome series.
The book centres around two characters, Natalia and Cam, who meet when Natalia moves to her new school Santa Anna. They are both drawn to each other and do not understand it but Cam's friends are desperate to keep them apart.
The end of the book is amazing and keeps the reader guessing what is going to happen.

Clockwork Angel (Infernal Devices #1)

Clockwork Angel
Cassandra Clare

Publication Date: August, 31 2010

Magic is dangerous--but love is more dangerous still.

When sixteen-year-old Tessa Gray crosses the ocean to find her brother, her destination is England, the time is the reign of Queen Victoria, and something terrifying is waiting for her in London's Downworld, where vampires, warlocks and other supernatural folk stalk the gaslit streets. Only the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the world of demons, keep order amidst the chaos.

Kidnapped by the mysterious Dark Sisters, members of a secret organization called The Pandemonium Club, Tessa soon learns that she herself is a Downworlder with a rare ability: the power to transform, at will, into another person. What's more, the Magister, the shadowy figure who runs the Club, will stop at nothing to claim Tessa's power for his own.

Friendless and hunted, Tessa takes refuge with the Shadowhunters of the London Institute, who swear to find her brother if she will use her power to help them. She soon finds herself fascinated by--and torn between--two best friends: James, whose fragile beauty hides a deadly secret, and blue-eyed Will, whose caustic wit and volatile moods keep everyone in his life at arm's length...everyone, that is, but Tessa. As their search draws them deep into the heart of an arcane plot that threatens to destroy the Shadowhunters, Tessa realizes that she may need to choose between saving her brother and helping her new friends save the world...and that love may be the most dangerous magic of all.

What a fantastic start to a new series by the wonderful Cassandra Clare. I really enjoyed Clockwork Angel and I cannot wait to see where this series goes.

Clockwork Angel is the first book in the Infernal Devices series, the prequel series to her bestselling The Mortal Instruments series. Will, a shadowhunter, is after the Dark Sisters. What he doesn't count on is rescuing Tessa, a extraordinary girl with a power even she doesn't understand or knew she possessed. Can the Shadowhunters protect Tessa from the evils that want to possess her when she may just be something they are supposed to fight?

I loved this book it was fantastic. I thought it was a little slow to start with and it took me a while to get into it but the more I read it the more I loved it. Personally I think I like this series better then The Mortal Instruments. I love the era in which the book is set and I love every character.
I loved seeing the love triangle start to form and this book is one of the only series in which I really do love both of the guys in the love triangle. Jem is the sweetest guy in the world who would always put others before himself, whereas Will is an ass for most of the book but I am convinced there is more to him.

Clockwork Angel ends with a bang and I cannot wait to see where the story goes from here. A great start to what I'm hoping to be a fantastic series.

January Books Read

This is the page where i will put the books that i have read in 2011

January 2011

I love this book. it was amazing. better than the first so a firm 5 stars.

This was a reli good accompaniment to the original series. a great elaboration of some of the important info from the main series. 3 stars
This is such a wonderful love story about loss and finding new love. a little sad to start with but by the end you are in love once again and have new hope. 5 Stars
This was the first book i read about fallen angels last year and i re-read it now ready for the second one coming out. amazing characters and an amazing love story that plays on my weakness of bad boys. 5 stars

I had been waiting so long for this book and had fears that the series may be becoming a little long but they were pointless. my favourite in the series so far and it made me even more impatient for the next one to come out. loved every minute of it. 5 stars
This book was very different from other paranormal books that i have read. it was amazing tho. only 4 stars for the reason that i didn't like it as much as other books of this genre that i have read.
I was a little sceptical when starting this book because of things i had heard, well i was not disappointed and my scepticism turned out to be for nothing. i had only read YA books before this so there was a lot of detail that i was not used to but it happened to make the story flow better. definitely not a book for people with a weak stomach or under the age of 18. i cannot wait to see what else happens in this series. 5 stars
I love this series. i started reading them mainly because of the TV show and i have fell in love with the world the author has portrayed and her characters. i definitely wasn't expecting the ending to be the way it was but that just made me love the book that much more. however at the time of reading this there were a number of books that i loved so much more so i awarded this book 3 stars
This was such a great follow up to hush hush and continued the love story of patch and nora perfectly. however i liked the first one so much better, things happened in this book that i didn't want to happen so it made me like the first one a lot better. 4 stars
i was genuinely surprised by how much i loved this book. it was such a clever story set in such a magical world with amazing characters. a definite 5 stars.
This book was amazing. it was very long but there is 3 books in it. i loved the story tho it was very similar to the summoning series, i loved the characters and how there was a love triangle with a girl and brothers just like lj smith's other book The Vampire Diaries. 5 stars
