Every girl who has taken the test has died.

Now it's Kate's turn.

It's always been just Kate and her mom--and now her mother is dying. Her last wish? To move back to her childhood home. So Kate's going to start at a new school with no friends, no other family and the fear her mother won't live past the fall.

Then she meets Henry. Dark. Tortured. And mesmerizing. He claims to be Hades, god of the Underworld--and if she accepts his bargain, he'll keep her mother alive while Kate tries to pass seven tests.

Kate is sure he's crazy--until she sees him bring a girl back from the dead. Now saving her mother seems crazily possible. If she succeeds, she'll become Henry's future bride, and a goddess.

If she fails..

I absolutely loved this book.
The story follows Kate, a teenage girl who moves to the town of Eden as her dying mothers last wish. When Kate meets Henry she doesn't realise that she has made a deal that will change her life. She discovers the existence of the Greek Gods that she believed were just myths.
As she goes through tests that she must pass to enable her to save Henry's existence as God of the Underworld and for her to become his queen, she fights her growing feelings for him as she knows Henry will only ever love Persephone.

I loved this book so much, it may be because of my love for Greek mythology but it was written absolutely beautifully and was an amazing twist on the myth of Hades and Persephone.
Kate was such an amazing lead character and you really felt so much emotion with her. Her heartbreak over her mother's illness, her confusion as she discovers the world of Greek Gods and her love for Henry throughout the book.
An amazing story of friendship and deep passionate love that will always conquer all.
I cannot wait for the next book in this series.

An absolutely amazing debut by Aimee Carter and I will definitely keep an eye out for this new author and can't wait to see how she will develop. An amazing author and I can't wait to read more of her work.
