From Goodreads:
He calls me his Queen of the Night. I'd die for him. I'd kill for him, too.

When MacKayla Lane receives a torn page from her dead sister's journal, she is stunned by Alina's desperate words. And now MacKayla knows that her sister's killer is close. But evil is closer. And suddenly the sidhe-seer is on the hunt; For answers. For revenge. And for an ancient book of dark magic so evil, it corrupts anyone who touches it.

Mac's quest for the Sinsar Dubh takes her into the mean, shape-shifting streets of Dublin, with a suspicious cop on her tail. Forced into a dangerous triangle of alliance with V'lane, an insatiable Fae prince of lethally erotic tastes, and Jericho Barrons, a man of primal desires and untold secrets, Mac is soon locked in a battle for her body, mind, and soul.

As All Hallows' Eve approaches and the city descends into chaos, as a shocking truth about the Dark Book is uncovered, not even Mac can prevent a deadly race of immortals from shattering the walls between worlds-with devastating consequences...

I was meaning to write this review yesterday when I finished the book but I was so emotionally exhausted and shocked by everything that happened I ended up sat there just starting at my kindle for five minutes after I'd finished it because I was so shocked by what had happened. I couldn't speak let alone write a review for the book that would actually make sense and not just say OMG WTF? So I took yesterday to calm myself down so now I might be able to talk about the book and form coherent sentences.

Mac and Barrons are still trying to find the book and things take a turn for the worse when she seed Unseelie disguised by humans working human jobs. Mac doesn't know what is going on but gets the feeling it will be something big.

The book is split into 3 parts and each part is better than the last. I loved the first part, you get some answers from questions arised in previous books but only to be left with more questions. The second part is very gritty and you see things starting to turn bad and as All Hallow's Eve draws closer things just seem to be getting worse. Part 3 is very small and it left me shocked. My mind just could not comprehend what was happening to Mac and I was just sat there going where is Barrons? Why is he not saving Mac?
I was so distraught by the ending I didn't know whether to scream, cry, punch something or pull my hair out.

Mac and Barrons relationship definitely became more intense in this book. Their arguments heated up a lot and it's so obvious they have feelings for each other but they are both just as stubborn as each other.
I loved Barrons in this book, I have found the more I read the more I love him. I love how all he wants is to keep her safe, trying to get her to go to Scotland with him so he can watch over her, trying to get her to go home where it will be safe.
I love Mac, I love her more and more with each book. She is one of the strongest female characters. If I was in a situation like hers I don't think I'd have been able to stay strong, I think I'd have broken down and gave up but she keeps fighting and no matter what knocks her down she always gets straight back up fighting, I think she's absolutely amazing.

I loved this book and it left me reeling for more. I will be starting the fourth book straight away.

  1. It's an amazing series isn't it? It's probably one of my all time favs.

  2. Yea I think it is my number one favourite series. I've never been so addicted and obsessed with a series as this one.

    Enough Said :)

  3. Yep, the ending to this makes you want to throw the book at the wall lol. I gasped so much and I couldn't write my review for a few hours.

  4. I couldn't until the next day i was like OMG WTF just happened i was so shocked lol
